Mona Lee Renner

Mrs. Mona Lee Renner (nee Shirley) of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on March 20, 2017 at the age of 77. Mona was born to parents Nadine Trotter and Rufus Buren Shirley on November 25, 1939. She was an adored only-child. She attended schools throughout the U.S. as her father was relocated within the U.S. Coast Guard, but finally returned to St. Petersburg, FL where she remained to finish high school. She married George on January 21, 1960 and obtained her Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Florida in 1968. Throughout her life, Mona was a dedicated wife and mother, a self- taught financial expert, and a passionate advocate for animal rights Mona is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George; her son, R. Christian and his wife Jennifer, along with her 5 granddaughters, Mikayla, Delaney, Cassidy, Aubree, and Leah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Strays at 2911 47th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33714, an organization close to her heart and the rescue where she found her beloved cat, Mitchell.
