Mona J. Roberts

South Hadley, Mona J. Roberts-78, passed away February 14, 2020. Born in Holyoke on June 24, 1941, she was the daughter of Alfred and Laurette Laramee Roberts. Mona graduated from Precious Blood High School in 1959 and went on to further her education and graduate from HCC in 1968 and UMass in 1970 with a BS degree. For 20 years, she worked at Holyoke Medical Center as an X-ray tech and ultrasound tech and then retired from Baystate Medical Center. Mona was predeceased by her brother, Roger Roberts and is survived by her nephew, Marc Roberts, his wife, Janice, Mona’s two grand nieces Rachel and Rebecca Roberts of South Hadley, MA and her nephew and godson, Paul Roberts and his wife Gail, Mona’s grand nephew Maxx Roberts of Ponte Vedra Beach FL along with sister-in-law, Adele F. Roberts of West Springfield. Mona loved cats, cruising to Bermuda, gourmet cooking and entertaining. Mona enjoyed roller skating in her youth and quilting later in her life. She was an avid Red Sox fan having gone to games over the years with her father and nephews. She holds a special place in the hearts of her family and friends. DUE TO THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS, THE MEMORIAL SERVICE THAT WAS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangments. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
