Monica Garza Sanchez, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2015. Monica was born on August 20, 1931 in Prairie Lee, TX to Miguel and Lupe Garza. A life-long resident of Salinas; Monica was a homemaker, wife, mother, friend and grandmother. She loved to camp with her family, cook, listen to music, sing, read her Bible and dance with her husband at the Moose Lodge. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Monica is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph A C Sanchez, her eldest son, Michael Sanchez, her parents, Miguel and Lupe Garza, sisters, Florinda Mendoza and Lucy Menchaca and brother, Gilbert. She is survived by her children, Marlene Robison (Larry), Tonya Sanchez (Michael), Mary Ann Houlihan, Sandra Lemos and Daniel Sanchez (Tracie). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristie Sikora (Joe), Larry Robison, Jr., Michael Sanchez, Jr., Christopher Sanchez (Kay), Jennifer Sanchez, Shara Bengel (Justin), Shannon Baer (Joel), Stephen Houlihan (Rachael), Amanda Lemos, Steven Lemos (Becky), Daniel Sanchez, Jr. (Carmen) and Danette Sanchez, and numerous great-grandchildren. Along with sisters, Janie Rivera, Ethel Peterson, Mary Sanchez, Chavela Flores, and her brother, Paul Garza. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 10am at the Echoes from Calvary Church 1025 Post Dr. Salinas, CA 93907. She will be laid to rest along side her husband at 2pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery Veteran's Memorial 32053 W. McCabe Rd Santa Nella, CA. 95322. Flowers may be sent to Echoes from Calvary Church.
