Monica Tejeda passed away after a ten year struggle with Lupus on March 23, 2014 at Watsonville Community Hospital. She was 38. Monica was born April 6, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Pablo Castillo Tejeda and Petra Rodriguez. She moved to Santa Cruz County as a child and grew up in Pajaro where she attended Pajaro Elementary and Junior High and Watsonville High School. She was a long time resident of Pajaro and Watsonville and has also lived in Santa Cruz and Hollister. She was described by her family as a Fashionista who loved to shop. She is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Hector Lopez; her four children, Monica Iliana Lopez, Andrew Isaiah Lopez, Malenie Nichole Lopez and Hector Damian Lopez; her parents, Pablo Tejeda and Petra Rodriguez; three sisters, Elisha Garcia, Estefanie Roldan and Melissa Tejeda and her brother, Pablo M. Tejeda. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church 126 High St., Santa Cruz, CA on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am. A vigil service will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA on Friday March 28, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 pm until the service. Please visit www.pacificgardenschapel.com to light a candle or express your condolences to Monica's family.
