Monte Johnson passed away April 12, 2016 in Olympia, Washington. He was born May 17, 1954 to Dale R. and Dorothy M. (Ball) Johnson in Olympia. Monte graduated from Tumwater High School in 1972. He attended The University of Washington in 1972 and 1973. He served in the U.S. Army from 1973 through 1980, deployed to Korea in 1978. Monte married Deanna Clark in 1974 at the Olympia United Methodist Church. He married Tori McDonald at Olympia’s Emmanuel Baptist Church on November 14, 1981. He worked in accounting for Washington State DSHS. Monte was funny, playful, loving, faithful, and supportive. He was a sports fan; enjoyed music, reading, and woodworking; and loved family gatherings, playing with the grandkids, and playing sports especially church softball. He was a member of The GraceWorks Church in Lacey, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Tori Johnson; son, Ken Johnson; daughters, Jackie Barratt and Katy Johnson; two grandchildren; brothers, Neil Johnson and Marc Johnson; and sisters, Lori Taylor and Gail Foster.
