Morgan Danielle McIlvoy
January 15th, 1993 - November 21st, 2021
Morgan Danielle McIlvoy, 28, was born in Aiken, S.C., and lived in Charleston, S.C., with her partner and future husband Brian Grossman and their three cats: Koa, Odin and Pagan. She worked as a dog groomer at Zen Dog Spa to help fulfill her passion for helping animals. Morgan lived a joyful life, always filled with music. She sang and danced her way through every day, loved karaoke with her family and eagerly awaited her inevitable next concert. Morgan’s personality exploded forth through her creativity. She loved crafting, constantly on the lookout for her next painting project, and she was an excellent cook, typically focusing on Filipino, Southern and Italian foods. Morgan never met a person or animal she didn’t need to help immediately because above all else, her huge heart, her love and her compassion were unmatched. She was the light and the life of every room she ever entered, and she leaves a massive hole in the hearts of the many, many friends and family who loved her as she loved them: wholeheartedly, without judgment and unconditionally. Morgan is survived by her father Michael McIlvoy (Aiken), stepmother Maria McIlvoy, mother Averill McCaffrey (Jacksonville, Fla.), stepfather Sonny McCaffrey, sisters Meagan McIlvoy (Raleigh, N.C.) and Gabby McIlvoy (Aiken), brother-in-law Lucas McIlvoy (Raleigh), grandmother Mary McIlvoy (Aiken), partner Brian Grossman (Charleston) and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved Pawpaw John McIlvoy, who we are sure welcomed her with love. Because Morgan loved helping any and all animals, the family asks that in lieu of sending flowers, donations be made in Morgan's memory to the following rescues: Eunoia Rescue (eunoiarescue.org) and Almost Home Feline Refuge (almosthomefelinerefuge.org). Just remember to note that your donation is in memory of Morgan McIlvoy. A remembrance and celebration of Morgan's life will be held at a later date. South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.southcarolinacremation.com
