Mr. Thomas "Thom" Floyd Nesmith, a cherished resident of Warner Robins, GA was called to eternal rest on July 27, 2024, at the age of 89. A funeral service with military honors will be held in Thom's memory on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.  Thom will be entombed at Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.

 

Born on January 16, 1935, in Brooklet, GA.  He joins in eternal peace his parents, Floyd and Maryann Marcella Nesmith, granddaughter, April Nesmith,  brother, William Lonnie, and sister ,Faye Helmly. Thom's journey was characterized by a sense of unwavering loyalty and an honest, generous spirit. He proudly served his country, dedicating 20 years to the United States Air Force before embarking on a fulfilling career as a contractor at Robins Air Force Base. His work ethic and commitment were a testament to his character, and he was deeply respected by his colleagues and loved ones alike. He was a man of varied interests, finding joy in driving and being on the open road, savoring the timeless tales of old western movies, and sharing moments of camaraderie at the bowling alley. Thom was a beloved fixture in both his family and community, known for his loyal nature and his always giving heart.

 

He leaves behind a profound legacy, survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Mary Nell Nesmith, and their children: Dwayne (Ara) Nesmith and Demara (Bill) Savage. Thom was a proud grandfather to Bobby (Jess), Brooks (Keri), Sara (Curtis), Ashley (Josh), and Abbey (Jordan), and a cherished great-grandfather to Kaytlinn, Tyler (Jade), Peyton, Lilly, Leila, Abel, Josh Jr., Nick, Lucas, James, Addison, Allie, and Lane. The light of his life also extended to his great-great-grandchildren, Willow, Kensley, and Bowen.  May his spirit find peace and his memory continue to inspire and unite his family. Let us remember Thom for the loyal, honest, and generous man he was, and find comfort in the lasting impact of his well-lived life.
