Mrs. Dorothy Jean Cockman, 88, of Browns Summit, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Beacon Place of Greensboro. A graveside service will be held at 2pm, on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Lakeview Cemetery. Jean was born on July 23, 1929 to the late Levi and Rosa Sizemore. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most importantly she was as devoted to her husband Paul, as he was to her, during their almost 72 years of marriage. Mrs. Cockman was an avid gardener, an excellent seamstress, and loved the outdoors as well as her two pets. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Cockman is survived by her loving husband, Paul Cockman; daughters, Gayle Myrick (Jimmy), Paula Knight (Ray), and Connie Dodgin; her sister, Marie Butler; six grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (2500 Summit Avenue Greensboro, NC 27405).
