Ninedorf, MSgt (Ret.) Frank R., "Sonny & Sarge" 81, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Born in Madison, WI, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1989 from DeForest WI. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1949. He was a 20 year veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served during Korea and Vietnam. He worked for UW Hospital, Madison General/Meriter and owned his own corner store. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, basketball, football and boxing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Barhorst Ninedorf and brothers, Richards, William, Thomas and Donald. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, LaVerne of St. Petersburg, FL; children, Deborah (Mark) Montavon, Cheryl (Brian) Ray, James (Karen) Ninedorf, David Ninedorf and Kelly (Scott) Oliver; grandchildren, Mindy (Marcus) Kiehl, Anne Montavon, Tyler Ray, Aisha Ray, Jeff Ninedorf, Joshua Lyons, Justin Lyons and Austin Oliver; great grandchild, Skyler Ninedorf; brothers, Phil Ninedorf, Russell Ninedorf, Stanford Ninedorf, Robert Ninedorf and Daniel Ninedorf; sisters, Nancy Nye, Sharron Welch and Jacqlyn; aunt, Hilda Barhorst Ninedorf; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. A memorial mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice and/or the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial will be held in Madison, WI at a later date in July.
