Muriel "Miki" Anne Etzel

March 12th, 1939 - October 7th, 2023

Miki, beloved wife, mother and grandma, was received into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on October 7, 2023. Miki was born at Mason City, Wash., to George and Yetive Brown and while living in many places, mainly grew up in the Wenatchee, Wash., area and graduated in 1957 from Wenatchee High School. Miki worked as a receptionist, stenographer and secretary in Portland, San Francisco and Hawaii. The day Miki moved into the houseboat she was buying, she met Herm Etzel and they married three months later in 1963. They moved to the Rockwood area, where they raised their two daughters, Traci and Teri, and lived for forty years. In 2004 they moved to their Linneman Station condo. Miki played a lot of golf with her instructor, Herm, as well as the friends and ladies' clubs at Pleasant Valley G.C. and Willamette Valley Country Club. In 1966 Miki began a faithful, active membership at Ascension Lutheran Church, where she was the church secretary for eight and a half years, as well as serving in other areas. Preceding Miki in death was her loving husband, Herm Etzel; Parents, a daughter Teri Lynn Flatt; a sister Karen Harris. Surviving and left to honor her life is her daughter, Traci House, grandaughters, Heather, Kayla, Alexandra, and Nikki Flatt. Great grandchildren, Braiden, Micah. Memorial Contributions may be made in loving memory to the Ascension Lutheran Church building Fund. 1440 SE 182nd Ave, Portland, Or 97233. Arrangements are under the direction of Canby Funeral Chapel.
