Murriel O. Tolbert, widow of James C. Tolbert, passed away Saturday, June 24th. Born to Edith Elizabeth Lyerly Altman and John Wesley Altman, she was 92. She loved cooking and baking fruit cakes and pound cakes and especially potato chip cookies. She is predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one sister, Leara Morris, who is 101 years old. She is also survived by one daughter, Billie Faye Marsh, three grandchildren, Michael Marsh, Terri Marsh, and James Marsh; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany Robertson, Jessie Everidge, and D.J. Marsh; three step great-grandchildren, Michael, Steven, and Charles Hern; one great-granddaughter, Camille Joanna Robertson; and five step great-granddaughters. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Simplicity Low-country Cremation and Burial Services (7475 Peppermill Pkwy, North Charleston, SC 29485), on Tuesday, June 27th. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted.
