Smith, Myrtle, 77, of St. Petersburg, FL died Wednesday July 14, 2004 in St. Petersburg. Born in New York, NY, she moved to St. Petersburg in 1972 from Staten Island, NY. She was a reporter/ videographer and media specialist for the St. Petersburg Fire Department for fifteen years. She was a columnist and photographer for the Pinellas Democrat, reporter and talk show host for WTSP-TV, consultant for Pinellas Emergency Medical Services, and member of the Pinellas County Juvenile Welfare Board. She was a member of the Democratic National Committee. Survivors include two daughters: Rosemary R. Smith, Johns Island, SC; and Virginia A. Werly, Riverside, CA; four sons: Charles J. Smith, Madrid, Spain; Bob Smith, Carr?s Landing, British Columbia; Raymond G. Smith, Riverside, CA; and Walt Smith, Maitland, FL; a sister, Eileen Gunderman, Paramus, NJ; two brothers:, John J. Reilly, NC; and Ray Reilly, Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions in her name to C.A.S.A., P.O. Box 414, St. Petersburg, FL 33731. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center-Ninth Street Chapel.
