Nalani Auntie was my Auntie by marriage but she and her family felt/feel like family. All that has been said about her kindness and giving is true and more. She leaves the world richer for having been here but definitely leaves a vacancy that cannot be filled. With much love for Sheila, Shamala, Suresh and David - Shael, Mohan, Ori and Deah

How did you meet Nalini?

Even though I really only met Nalini at a few functions in our neighborhood, I was struck by her gentle nature and sweetness. I was saddened to hear of her passing unexpectedly. May her children and family find comfort in her legacy. With deepest sympathy, Liz Seczech

We met Nalini as our new next door neighbor over nine years ago and very soon after she became our very dear friend. Her smile was contagious and her kindness had no limits. We shared a love for landscaping especially our rose bushes. We planted them across from each others kitchen window so that we could admire them daily. We know there will never be a time when she won’t be missed. Our hearts are heavy but our spirits are lifted because we had the privilege of knowing Nalini who will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace! We love you ❤️

Dear Sheila, Shyamala and Suresh, Nalinka invited Meera and me to her house this past April. She had taken so much effort to cook many elaborate dishes despite us telling her to keep lunch simple as the intent was to see her and spend time with her. I was so touched by her love and gentleness. We spent the day with her catching up with old and new happenings and memories. I will forever cherish the precious time we spent with her and strive to emulate her grace and kind demeanor. In talking to extended family in India, the one common theme was: of all relatives living in and out of India, Nalinka was the only one who made it a point to visit each and everyone of her cousins every time she went to India. That says a lot about her love for family and people in general. Heartfelt condolences to Sheila, Shyamala, jkSuresh, David and her vast family. God bless. Om Shanthi. Vanitha

Chennai Family Members.

From Chennai Family members. We still cannot believe that our beloved Nalini Pasupathy is no more. We heard encouraging news of her recovery after her stroke in April this year and kept expecting that she would fully recover and visit Chennai soon, perhaps even in the early or middle months of 2025. Her family members in Chennai remember Nalini with great love and warmth as she was such a loving and kind person. Nalini has been a deeply affectionate aunt to Malavika T. Vikram and Kalpana Karunakaran. Chandra Thanikachalam, Dr S Thanikachalam and C.E.Karunakaran have lost a beloved sister-in-law. We remember how much she enjoyed her visits to Chennai and periods of stay in the Bridgeton Apartment constructed by Dr Pasupathy in Anna Nagar. She visited Chennai regularly. All of us enjoyed these visits very much and looked forward to spending time with her. Nalini loved exploring the Anna Nagar neighbourhood in the company of Sheila, Shamala and Suresh. We fondly remember her enthusiasm for the South Indian breakfast at Srivari, the restaurant that is a short walk away from her apartment. Nalini had a great zest for life and ageing did not dim this dimension of her personality. It grieves us greatly to have to say goodbye to her forever. Meagre though it is, we draw comfort from knowing that her spirit is with her ancestors and with Dr. Pasupathy, a man who deeply loved his wife. Each one of us will forever cherish the rich and happy memories that we have of time spent with dear Nalini in Chennai.
