Nancy Clara Berlin

In Loving Memory of Nancy Clara Smith Berlin August 18, 1935 – November 13, 2023 Nancy was born in Nashville, TN to Nema Myrtle Patterson Smith and William Edward Smith. She was the youngest of four girls. Nancy resided in west Nashville for 20 years, graduating from Cohn High School and attending Peabody College. She married her grammar school sweetheart, Charles Edward Berlin, in August of 1955. Charles and Nancy subsequently moved to Miami where Charles attended flight training and worked for Eastern Airlines. Nancy worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. In 1961, they adopted a baby girl and named her Teresa Elizabeth Berlin. Eastern Airlines transferred Charles to Washington, DC, and then to Denver, CO, where they fell in love with the mountains. Nancy first worked for the Colorado Baptist Convention and then moved to employment at Riverside Church in the heart of Denver. Charles Berlin died on January 24, 2000, and Nancy never stopped missing him. She continued to treasure her daughter, son-in law, and two grandchildren who reside in Los Angeles, CA. Nancy loved reaching out to others in need and God gave her the unique gift of a servant spirit with a loving and caring heart. She welcomed all into her life no matter what the circumstances were that brought them to her. Having a deep love for the Lord, Nancy believed that God called her to serve at Riverside Church and she continued working full time there for 48 years up until her death. A Celebtration of Nancy's Life will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, Riverside Church, 2401 Alcott Street, Denver 80211. at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am and end at 10:45 am, the day of the service. A seperate visitation/viewing will be on Monday, November, 27th, 2023 at Riverside Church 2401 Alcott Street, Denver, CO 80211 in the Chapel. Interment will be held on Thursday, Novemebr 30, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.At Woodlawn Memorial Park.
