Nancy A. Brewer

Nancy Allen Brewer, 74, of Englewood, Florida passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice in Venice. She was born on November 1, 1939 in Manhattan, NY to John and Mary (Gardner) Allen. Nancy moved to Florida 25 years ago from Marysville, OH after retiring from the Public School System as an Elementary Teacher. Mrs. Brewer was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Grove City, a member of Order of Eastern Star, and Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Her hobbies included collecting dolls, crossword puzzles and traveling. She is survived by her two sister's: Catherine McCarthy of Beacon, NY; Mary McHugh of Gordonsville, VA; three step children: Kirk Brewer of Seattle, WA; Diane Brewer of GA; Glenn Brewer of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews, thirty-eight grand nieces and grand nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold E. Brewer on April 30, 2005. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2 Pm until 5 Pm at Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238 or to St. Francis of Assisi - Outreach Program, 5265 Placida Road, Grove City, FL 34224 in memory of Mrs. Brewer.
