Mrs. Nancy M. Compagnone, 82, of Groton, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 24, 2021. Born on July 10, 1939 in Gloversville, NY she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Immaculetta “Jennie” Lauritano. Nancy lived the majority of her live in Gloversville, NY moving to Connecticut in 2006 residing in Danielson and most recently in Groton, CT. Nancy was a woman of love, compassion and good heartedness to all that came into her life. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh and smile and beauty in her soul that was beyond compare. Her culinary skills were legendary as were her holiday feasts and truly works of art. Nancy’s home was often the center for many holiday gatherings and celebrations. The food was always prepared with love because to see the happiness on her family’s faces, along with relatives and friends when they sat down to eat is what filled her heart with joy. All who ever came to her home were treated as family. Nancy’s ultimate love in life was her children and grandchildren. All the love she had was put into raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with them and knowing they were happy and living fulfilled lives. A hard worker all of her life, she was compassionate almost to a fault. After the raising of her children, Nancy started a second career as a certified nursing assistant at Nathan Littauer Extended Care for many years. She took great care and pride in providing the best care she could to all of her patients, treating them all as if they were her own family. It is impossible to capture the essence of a woman, dedicated to her family in just a few short paragraphs. Nancy embodied all of the characteristics of a “Mom” and a nurse. She dedicated her life to serving others, weather she knew you or not, after meeting her you felt a sense of comfort and knew what love was. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Mark Compagnone of Groton, CT, Debra Compagnone (Michelle) of MA, Anthony Compagnone (Renee) of CA, and Nick Compagnone (Agnes) of FL; her sisters, Angel Sax of NY and Vincenta Sicilia of NY; her beloved grandchildren, Vincent, Analiese, Julissa and Jacob; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Nadine; her sisters, Delores Tice and Patricia Komorny; and her husband Anthony Compagnone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 1p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main Street, Gloversville. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
