Nancy Lee Ghent Robinson
June 23rd, 1929 - February 8th, 2015
Nancy Lee Ghent Robinson died on February 8, 2015, at home surrounded by her family and those who cared for her. She was 85. She was born June 23, 1929 in Longview, Washington, to Byron Ghent and Lucy Elston Ghent (Hamilton). She graduated from Olympia High School in 1947. On June 28, 1952, she married John Donald Robinson of Olympia, and immediately moved to Santa Clara, California, to pursue jobs in the banking field. John and Nancy had four daughters, Debbie, who died as an infant, Linda Drake (Tom) who died in 2005, Rene Willis (David), Lisa Law (Kevin), all in the Olympia area. In 1976, they moved the family back to Olympia, where they raised their daughters and lived near Littlerock. After John’s death in 2006, Nancy moved to her current home in Lacey. Nancy is survived by her two daughters; five grandchildren, Tiffany Whetsel (Zach), Annie Rudin, Anthony and Savannah Drake and Cassie Robinson; one sister, Sandy Dahlquist (Jay); and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John; her two daughters; and her brothers, Herb, Robert, and Tom Hamilton. Nancy was a lifelong homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking meals for family, gardening, playing cards, puzzles, reading, and her little dog, Missi, who faithfully remained with her until death.
