Nancy Keenan

Nancy B. Keenan died at Harbor Cover Memory Care on Hilton Head on August 16, 2024. She was 78 years old.

Nancy was born on August 22, 1945, in Fall River, MA to her parents, John and Bella Silva of Warren, RI. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Psychology. She married Joseph V. Keenan in 1968. She worked as a Research Data Analyst in the medical field before retiring to Hilton Head, SC in 1997.

Nancy and Joe moved to Moss Creek in 1997, and she gave generously of her time to Bluffton Self Help, once named Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding service. She was a frequent winner in the Lady’s 9-hole Golf League and played on several State Championship tennis teams. She enjoyed playing Mah Jong and would never miss the Monday afternoon group. Joe and Nancy had a passion for travel and have visited all 48 states in their motor home, and later traveled extensively in Europe as well as North and South America.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe, her daughter, Kelli A. Keenan of Buda, TX and her son, Colonel (retired, US Army) Sean Keenan, MD, of Colorado Springs, CO and three grandsons: Aidan, Jack, and Patrick Keenan.

Nancy will be celebrated in a funeral Mass at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 10:30am on August 23, 2024, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend.
