Nancy Piesz
June 29th, 1951 - September 16th, 2023
Belchertown-Nancy Piesz, 72, passed away at her home on September 16, 2023. Born in Springfield on June 29, 1951, she was the daughter of William and Helen (Sadowski) Robitaille. Nancy grew up in Springfield and moved to Belchertown in 1975. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1969 and held various positions in banking throughout her life, including working for Third National Bank and Bank of America since the mid-80s. While living in Belchertown, she was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi. Nancy loved to vacation in Oquinquit, Maine. She loved watching old movies and was a huge Boston Bruins fan - never missing a game. Nancy was an animal lover and loved the pet dogs she had throughout her life. She was an avid watcher of animal and nature programs including National Geographic television specials. Nancy was predeceased by her father, William Robitaille; her beloved mother, Helen Robitaille Muise; and her stepfather, William Muise. She was also predeceased by two of her brothers, Paul Robitaille, and Carl Robitaille, who just passed away in June as well as by her great nephew, Drew Kelleher. Nancy leaves behind her best friend of 60 years, Maryann Pepe. Maryann was a trusted, loyal friend who took care of Nancy and looked after her. Maryann will miss Nancy dearly and will treasure the memories they made together. Nancy also leaves her brother, Donald Robitaille of Stockbridge, MA; her sister-in-law, Eileen Robitaille of Wilbraham, MA; her niece, Lorin (Robitaille) Kelleher of Longmeadow, MA. Nancy also leaves behind her beloved great-niece and Goddaughter, Gracie Kelleher of Longmeadow, MA and her great nephews, Dylan Kelleher of Quincy, MA and Camden Kelleher of New York, NY. Nancy was a kind, sweet soul and she will be missed by many. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi in Belchertown with burial to follow in South Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society in Springfield, MA.
