Nancy C. Roberts

Nancy (Nan) Roberts, 79, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on September 26, 2014. She was predeceased by both parents, her husband Jesse P. Roberts and beloved son, Donnie Long. Ms. Roberts is survived by her daughters Jenni (Phil) Petresky, Karen (Calvin) Close and Claire (Jeff) Foltz; sons Jep (Kelly) Roberts and son-in-law Ryan Aycock. She is also survived by grandchildren; Casey, Alex, Sam, Callie, Porter, Hannah and great granddaughters Raelynn and Aubry. Nan devoted her career to teaching elementary school, touching the lives of many. The last fifteen years of her career, she worked as an elementary school guidance counselor and earned the honor of ""Elementary School Guidance Counselor of the Year"", for the State of Florida. Nan was devoted to her family as many friends. Her favorite quote was ""Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, which is why we call today The Present."" She was a devout Christian all her life and an active member of her church including being in the choir. Nan's positive outlook, loving ways and beautiful smile will always be treasured. A Service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection at 1 P.M. on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Casual dress will be acceptable.
