Nancy Lee Sayre
June 18th, 1932 - October 17th, 2022
Nancy Lee Sayre, daughter of William and Helen Tesch, born June 18, 1932 in Wausau, Wisconsin passed away on October 17, 2022, at the age of 90. Nancy Tesch was the youngest of seven children raised in Wausau. Her parents passed away when Nancy was 12 and she was taken in by Gerlinda and Ben Keebler. She attended the University of Colorado for several years but decided to return home and attend secretarial school. While working at the Boston Store she met Bob Sayre on a blind date. Bob was in the Navy, stationed at Great Lakes, in Naval Training School. They married in 1955 and had 3 children. After Bob left the Navy, he settled into work at EMR and eventually located to Virginia. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom until the youngest was in high school. She went back to work as an administrative assistant. Nancy was involved in the Falls Church Women’s Club and painted. She enjoyed skiing. She was an avid gardener and loved to feed and watch the birds. She was a good cook and liked to entertain. Nancy enjoyed traveling and she and Bob were able to take many memorable trips together. Every summer was spent with the kids at the local beach and then to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for vacation. Nancy was involved with the Baileys Crossroads Homeless Shelter and on the Advisory Board for many years. She was a member of Annandale United Methodist Church. Nancy Leaves behind Bob, her husband of 67 years, her sons Peter and Bob, her daughter Ann and grandson Ryan. There will be a funeral service at Annandale United Methodist Church, Friday November 4, at 10:00 am with a reception following.
