She was predeceased by her parents, Herman Hicks Kirk and Hattie Lake Kirk; her husband of 57 years, William L. Scott; and her sister, Margaret West. She is survived by her son, Lowell Kirk Scott, daughter Rebecca Lynn Scutro (Dale), son Richard Alan Scott (Kathryn), and son Charles Edward Scott (Shelby); grandchildren Sandra, Matthew, Geoffrey, Craig (Maria), Melanie, Laura, William, Emily, Olivia and Stephen; and great grandchildren Landon and Elena. Nancy graduated from Eggleston High School and McLain’s Business College, both in Bluefield, WV. Following graduation, she worked for Commercial Credit Corporation and was transferred to Cincinnati where she met her future husband, Bill. They were married in 1953 in Cincinnati and later moved to Tampa, FL where Kirk was born. Once starting a family, she became a full-time homemaker and loving mother. Nancy was active in church and several civic organizations. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary, YWCA, and the Pasadena Women’s Club, where she held several different officer positions during her 20-year membership. She enjoyed playing bridge for over 70 years of her life. She loved playing all sorts of board games and card games with friends and family. While bridge was her favorite, she also loved playing dominos with everyone. She regularly enjoyed ‘Game Night’ with friends well into her 90’s. Affectionately known as Grammy, she was the ultimate loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her unwavering love and care for her family was always on display. Her kindness and loving spirit will always be remembered and will serve as an example to all who have known her. Nancy’s memorial service will be on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:00am.
