Nancy H. Strailey
February 27th, 1947 - August 28th, 2024
Nancy H. Strailey, 77, of Columbia, passed away on August 28th after a long and fulfilling life.
Nancy was born on February 27, 1947 in Washington DC. Her father Stanley and mother Halise, provided Nancy and her sisters, June and Janis, a happy childhood growing up in Wayne PA.
After Nancy graduated from Radnor High School she attended Moore College of Art & Design for a period of time eventually transferring to Penn State University in State College, PA.
Nancy married Michael in 1968. During their 56 years of marriage they had two children, Michael “JR” and Tracy. During Nancy’s lifetime she enjoyed being a grandmother to two grandchildren, Morgan and Wesley and a great grandmother to Wayne.
Nancy was a lifelong learner with a love for animal research, especially African animals, that included numerous African safaris. She had a prolific art career with numerous awards and recognition throughout her lifetime.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Halsie, and her sister June.
She is survived by her husband Michael, children, Michael “Jr” (Cindy) Strailey & Tracy (Mark) Adams; her grandchildren Morgan (Trey) Brown, Wesley Pady, and great grandson, William Wayne Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Great Plains Foundation, a cause Nancy felt strongly about. The Great Plains Foundation is a US 501(c)3 organization with a mission to conserve and expand natural habitats in Africa through innovative conservation initiatives with a long-term commitment to the environment, wildlife, and local communities.
