Nancy Ellen (Greene) Thomas passed away of cancer on November 18, 2023, in Olympia, Washington, her home of 52 years. She was born in San Francisco on September 1, 1947, to Mary Chapman Greene and Clyde Cornelius Greene Jr. Nancy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from the University of California-Davis in 1969. She was passionate about Early Childhood Education and worked most recently as a Professional Development Specialist for the National Council for Professional Development (1993 to 2014). She loved meeting people from all over the world who were working towards their CDA certification. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and gardening. Nancy married Edward LeRoy Thomas on November 6, 1971, in San Luis Obispo, California. She is survived by her son, Brian Carey Thomas of Olympia; daughters, Elizabeth Thomas Bartom of Chicago, Illinois, and Chelsea Thomas Altrum of Olympia; five grandchildren; and brother, Clyde Cornelius Greene III. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Thomas (1943-2005); and brother, Ralph Chapman Greene (1949-2010). Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
