Neale Wilson Dietz
October 28th, 1934 - March 10th, 2008
Neale Wilson Dietz, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2008 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his father, Carl Wilson Dietz. He leaves behind his mother, Marie Stewart; his beautiful wife of 53 years, Margaret Dietz; children, Michael (Kim) Dietz, Matthew (Katharine) Dietz, Rebekah (Lynne Pierce) Dietz, and Eric (Julie) Dietz. Grandchildren; Genevieve (Josh), Gabriel, Courtney, Adam (Morgan), Amber (Harri), Vaughn and Harley; great-grandchildren, Neptune, Django, Harrison, Lacey, Payne and Dorian. He is also survived by his brother, John Dietz and brother-in-laws, Norman Saulan and Tom Reed who helped him on his final journey. Neale's life was also blessed with many extended family and friends. Everyone in Neale's life will feel the deep loss of this incredible man. Neale along with his father and brother owned Longfellow Lumber, Inc. since 1953. He was actively involved in the business throughout his entire life and most recently was very proud to see it being managed by his children. Neale was a simple man who loved being around people and never complained about his Parkinson's disease. He enjoyed time with Margaret at their beautiful home where he loved to go to his pond to "feed the catfish" or sit at the bar sharing in conversation with a fine glass of "tutti-frutti". Neale also looked forward to his weekly lunches and dinners with friends. He would often play cards at Angie's Poker Club and enjoyed traveling with his son Michael to play Keno at Harrah's in Reno. Celebration of Neale's life will be held on Sunday March 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., 9185 Lott Road, Durham, California. Memorial Donations may be made to the Barry Kirshner Wildlife Foundation, P.O. Box 841, Durham, CA 95938.
