Bermudez Family Cremations & Funerals
Neale Johnson
March 6th, 1939 - May 24th, 2017
Neale Eric Johnson passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017, in Pacific Grove, California. Neale was born March 6, 1939, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to parents Carl Edwin and Mary Alice Johnson. He moved to California with his parents and later attended both Stanford University and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He obtained an engineering degree from Cal Poly and worked in Laser Optics for Laser Optical Systems, a division of Xerox in Southern California. Neale moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1976 and started Monterey Life Magazine. Upon the sale of Monterey Life Magazine, Neale began his third career as a real estate mortgage banker. Neale's true interest in life was his passion for Jesus Christ as he established his ministry in teaching the Hebraic Biblical roots of the Bible. Neale was the voice of Shalom Radio on KKMC AM radio and hosted the Monterey Prayer Breakfast in the 1980's. He led a discipling fellowship as the weekly Shabat Shalom for 20 years and his teaching remains available at ArielMinistries.net. Neale was a founding member of a men's Bible study that has continued every Tuesday morning in Monterey for 40 years. Even as Neale's health declined, he continued his attendance and provided his knowledge of the Hebrew Bible, a term he much preferred over the "Old Testament." Neale was a gentle and self-effacing man, who in his teaching role loved to meet for coffee and a cinnamon roll. In true Biblical form, the Lord Jesus was first in his life, followed by his beloved wife Carmen, who survives him and who was an integral part of his teaching ministry. Neale also had an affinity for classic cars, and always had a "Jaguar project" in his garage. Neale is also survived by his stepdaughter Cheryl-Lynn Markham of Seattle, his stepson Ronald Victor Markham Jr., of Victoria B.C., his sister Carla Wallen of Strasburg, Virginia, and her children David Wallen, Edwin Wallen, Christine Sager, and Millard Wallen, III. Services are being planned for a later date. Service Information
