Nedra Lucille (LaFlair) Russo (Dee), 70, of Syracuse, born May 9, 1950, passed away July 27, 2020 after a hard fought battle with numerous health complications. Dee is survived by her son John (Kathy) DeLong, grandchildren Evan, Madison, Gracyn and Ryan; stepchildren Howard, Elizabeth, Laura, Paula, and Paul Coe; Toni Russo, Tina (Jules) Loftin, and grandchildren Robert, Theresa, Shadi, Ebony, and Starlett, along with great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Russo, and her twin brother Richard LaFlair. Dee was best known for her love of family and friends, and her generous heart. She had a passion for teaching the English language and also enjoyed working at the local IGA when she and Tony lived in Hannibal, NY with their precious dog, Sandi. Anyone who knew Dee knew Vivian Jakway Quinones, her cousin and best friend. Raised like sisters, Dee and Vivian spent much of their time together visiting casinos, going out to eat, and reminiscing about their childhood. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, 2-4 pm at A. Dewitt Memorial Funeral Home 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY, with a memorial service immediately following. Dee will be laid to rest with her late husband, Tony, at the Veteran Cemetery in Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the VFW Post 5380 in Hannibal, NY. Online condolences for Dee's family may be left on the funeral home website.
