Neil "Bill" William Carlson returned to his beloved wife, Patricia on January 20, 2022, after nearly a decade without her. Bill was born on April 22, 1930, in Detroit Michigan to Otto "Red" Amandus and Anne Andersen Carlson. He grew up in Michigan then attended the Florida Military Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida for his high school years. Bill joined the United States Army and served valiantly in Korea and Japan from 1951 until 1953. In 1959, he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Moriarty and they were married on May 9, 1959. They lived in many areas of California, where, as active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland Temple. Together Bill and Pat raised 5 beautiful children: Laura Susan, Thomas James, Lisa Corrin, Kenneth Willian, and Keith Edward. Bill loved to be in the air, in the 1950s, he received his private pilot license. If he couldnt be high in the clouds, he chose to be on the water and loved boating and fishing with his family. He could often be found tinkering with his little model railroads or snuggling one of his grandchildren. Bill leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, commitment, friendship and love. While he will be missed greatly on earth, we are comforted knowing his reunion with Pat was something that he longed for often. Bill is survived by his 5 children, Laura Cartwright, Walnut Creek, California; Thomas J. Carlson, Payson, Utah; Lisa Carlson, Grants Pass, Oregon; Kenneth Carlson, Pleasant Hill, California; and Keith Carlson, Highland, Utah. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchild, his pride and joy. He is preceded in death by Pat, his parents, Otto and Anne Carlson, and his sister, Nancy. A viewing is to be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home at 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Following the viewing, a funeral service will be held at 1 oclock in the afternoon. A viewing will be held in Walnut Creek, California at the Oak Park Hills Chapel on February 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Oakmont Memorial Park. Ever since, we've had a special relationship with our military families and we are proud to be certified as Veterans Funeral Specialists....
