Nellie Ulibarri
April 19th, 1936 - July 8th, 2017
Obituary Nellie A. Ulibarri 81, a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. Nellie was born April 19th, 1936 in Mountainair, New Mexico to Ilario and Juanita Lucero. Our mother Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters & brothers, her daughters Maria & Theresa and son Danny, Son in law Ray Jimenez. Nellie stated in her own words that "she considered it an honor to be the mother of" son Chris and wife Nadine Tena, grandchildren Kiara and James Tena and Karen and husband Michael Quezada, great grandchildren Amaris, Aubriella and Aurora Quezada, daughter Angela and husband James Anaya, grandchildren Renee & Leah Jimenez, great granddaughter Aribella Jimenez, son Robert, grandchildren Luciano, Anna and Alicia Avila, son Michael, grandchildren Mercedes & Immanuel Avila, great grandson Noah Avila, daughter Dolores and husband Carlos Perea, grandchildren Ian, Sean and Nicole Spencer, grandchildren Anthony and Victoria Sandoval, Cruz and David Hinojos, great grandchildren Theresa and Saul Sandoval, Son Danny and wife Beth Ulibarri, and grandsons Archer and Miles Ulibarri. Our mom also left behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved and considered her own. Our mother was often reminded that she was considered the "Last of the Mohicans" as she was the last sibling in her family to be laid to rest. Our mother worked as a long distant telephone operator for Mountain Bell and retired from AT & T. Our mother was loving and a compassionate person and came to know Christ personally and drew closer to him soon after moving to Colorado. She loved her husband Richard and enjoyed the last 5 years of her life with him. The last words our mother shared with me, during one of my visits with her, is that she wanted her family to know that she was very proud of each one of us and that we would draw close together as a family and always remember Richard as part of our family. Our family would like to extend a big thank you to Cappadona Funeral Home, Pastor Ken Musselwhite and the Anchor Way Congregation, Rick Emerson, Simon & Juanita Martinez, Lavern & Novella Ulibarri and last but not least our extended family and friends for their love, support and generosity that made this celebration of life for our mother possible. Services Anchor Way Baptist Church 3125 Virginia Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80907
