Nello Puccetti

A beloved father and grandfather, Nello Puccetti passed away on October 14, 2008 following a brief illness. Born in Jerome, Arizona on June 2, 1918, Nello was raised in the Hollister area. He married Mary Berrocoso 1942. After serving as a medic in France during World War II, Nello returned to make his home in Hollister with Mary. In 1988 they moved to Chico to be near their daughter and grandchildren. Nello is survived by his daughter, Karen Puccetti; grandchildren, Rachel Puccetti Steiner and Marc Puccetti Steiner; and son-in-law, Dale Steiner, all of Chico, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary, and sons, Arthur and Jeffrey Puccetti. Nello was a member of the Elks Lodge and Spanish Lodge in Hollister, and the Chico SIRS. A friend to all he met, Nello was noted for his positive outlook on life, devotion to his family, and his energy continuing to go dancing until the last weeks of his life. His family extends their thanks and appreciation to Drs. Mark Weeber and John Howard, the staff at Enloe Hospital, and Kim Hull in particular. A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Hollister at 11:30 a.m. on October 24, 2008 followed by a reception for family and friends at Hollister's Liberty Christian Church, 10 Mansfield Road.
