Nicholas "Nic" Christopher Cox
February 24th, 1999 - September 8th, 2012
Weskan, Kansas resident, Nicolas Christopher Cox, 13, died Saturday, September 8, 2012, as a result of a vehicle accident near Weskan. Nic was born February 24, 1999, at Jacksonville Beach, Florida, the son of Michelle (Blasing) and Jeffrey Wayne Cox. He was an eighth grade student at Weskan Schools, where he enjoyed school activities. Outdoor activities, hunting, and fishing were also times that he enjoyed. Preceding him in death was his grandfather Bill Slivka and Aunt Jodi Lynn Pletcher. Surviving family includes his father Jeffrey Cox of Weskan; his mother Misty Cox and two sisters Emily Cox and Chelsea Harkness, all of Jefferson, Wisconsin; grandparents Fred and Sharon Cox of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandmother Judy Slivka of Jefferson, Wisconsin; and grandparents Herb and Sandy Blasing of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The funeral was held Wednesday, September 12, at 10:30 AM MT, at the Weskan School Gym, with Pastor Tim Cress officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and inurnment will be at a later date in the Sharon Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to Weskan Schools, and may be left at the service or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555. Local condolence may be mailed to; 204 North High Ave. Jefferson, WI 53549 Local Memorial Services for Nic will be Thursday September 20, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
