Nicholas (Nick) Duncan passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023 with family and friends at his side after a long illness. He was 43 years old. He was born March 8, 1980 in French Camp, California. Nick grew up in Santa Cruz County, living in Soquel and Aptos. He attended Soquel, Mar Vista Elementary, Aptos Junior High, and Aptos High Schools. Nick was known for his love and appreciation of nature and outdoor activities. He participated in Little League, Soccer, Capitola Junior Guards, among others. Nick lived in Santa Cruz County most of his life. He lived in Maui for a short time. Nick worked in construction, hauling, tile work and many other jobs. Nick had many hobbies; he enjoyed skateboarding, biking, and camping. He also spent many hours with his Suzuki (his “Zuki”). He was creative and enjoyed sketching, woodworking, and building RC cars. He was passionate about caring for our planet and each other. He volunteered cleaning our beaches, loved animals and wanted to save sea turtles. Nick occasionally attended Twin Lakes and Santa Cruz Hope Churches. He loved to make people laugh and smile. Nick is survived by his parents Cathy Adele Person and Earl Spence Duncan, his four sons: Beckett (Brody), Skylar, Darby, and Andy. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Nick is preceded in death by his son, Cody Duncan in 2005. A celebration of life is pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 2402 Cabrillo College Dr, Soquel, CA 95073, any organization of your choice, or take time to clean a beach.
