Nicholas R. Lynch
August 21st, 1952 - June 3rd, 2023
Nicholas R. Lynch, 70, of Amsterdam passed away on Saturday June 3, 2023 at St Mary's Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 21, 1952 to Robert J. Lynch and Caroline Sampone Lynch of Amsterdam. A lifelong area resident, Nick was a 1970 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He worked at General Electric for 10 years before retiring to start Starlee Imports in Amsterdam. He was also the owner operator of Valley Hill Kennels where he raised English Pointer Dogs. Nick had a deep love for animals and also enjoyed riding horses. He was an avid music lover who played in a number of local bands, most notably The Bel-Aires for a number of years. Nick is survived by his daughter Michelle Lynch of Broadalbin, cousins George (Pat) Galeazza of Fultonville and Rosalie (Frank) Farina of Fultonville as well as several other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Caroline as well as his brother Michael Lynch who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. A Service of Remembrance will take place at 12:00PM with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis, EV. Following services Nick will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Nick's memory may be made to Montgomery County SPCA PO Box 484 Amsterdam, NY 12010.
