PANIS, Nicholas, 84, of Auburndale, FL passed away Sunday February 26, 2012. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Florida in 1992. He retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 25 years of service. Nicholas was an engineer and worked with diesel engines. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Auburndale, FL and Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by a son, Constantinos Panis of New Jersey, a daughter, Catherine Mease of Pennsylvania, a brother, Alexander Panis of California, two sisters, Angela Laspas of Pennsylvania and Catherine Papas of New Jersey, a granddaughter, Serena Mease, 8 nieces and nephews, Athena Swartley (Jay), Deborah Laspas, Lisa Titano (Michael), Nicholas Laspas, Daniel Panis (Donna), Melina Panis, Elaine Papas, George Papas and many great nieces and nephews including Christine Brown, Karyn Clatterbaugh and Peter Swartley. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
