Nick Kefalas Mr. Kefalas, 86 of Charlotte, passed away on November 23, 2016. He was born December 29, 1929 in Chios, Greece. He came to Charlotte in 1957 and in 1967 started his own business Carolina Expert Tailor Shop in uptown where he worked with his wife for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he was a chanter and sang in the choir. Mr. Kefalas was also a member of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church. He was also blessed to be a descendent of Saint Nektarios of Aegina, Greece. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy; sons Danny and Angelo and his wife Katherine; grandchildren, Maria and Arianna; his brother John and his wife Maria and their children in Athens, Greece. The Trisagion will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 28, 2016 also at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Milton Polemides, Jimmy Zaharopoulos, George Zaharopoulos, John Zaharopoulos, George Stathopoulos, Andreas Stathopoulos, Danny Vlahos and John Georgopoulos as Pallbearers. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Building Renovation Fund, St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church or Panagia Prousiotissa Greek Church.
