Nila Renner Pilger date of death September 25 2010 Pilger, Nila Renner, 94, 01/23/1916 - 09/25/2010 Nila went to be with the Lord Sept. 25, 2010. She was born Jan. 23, 1916, in Lynch, Neb., and grew up in O'Neill, Neb. She met the love of her life, Melvin Pilger, in high school and they married Aug. 1, 1935. They moved to Portland in 1936 and to Tualatin in 1945, where they raised their family. Nila was an active member of Norwood Bible Church for over 60 years and a fervent supporter of missions. She is survived by her sons, Wendell (Thais) and Dennis (Zoe Anne); daughters, Nila Lee (David) deVidal and Christie (John) Irish; grandchildren, Michael, Jeff, Cindy, Cherie, Kimberly, Jamie, Melanie, Nathan, Kevin, and Micah; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Melvin; and grandchildren, Lynda and Scott. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, in Rolling Hills Community Church, 3550 S.W. Borland Road, Tualatin.
