Noreen Rose McGuirk

Noreen Rose (Hauhuth) McGuirk, of Pioneer, CA, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the age of 96. She was born in Merced Falls, CA on October 31, 1922 to the late Mary (Dowling) and James Hauhuth. After graduating Sutter Creek High School in 1940, Noreen began her career at a young age, working at the box factory in Sandy Gulch. She then worked for many years in the grocery business, beginning at the Red and White store in Pioneer and then in the West Point and Buckhorn areas. Noreen was then a weighmaster for Dickson Sand and Gravel Quarry in Volcano for fifteen years, until she retired in her 70’s. Noreen is survived by her two daughters, Mary and her husband Floyd Martin, and Valarie and her husband Ralph Benton, all of Pioneer, CA; son, Michael and his wife Lucille McGuirk, of Jackson, CA; daughter-in-law, Loreen McGuirk, of Pioneer, CA; and nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, James McGuirk on June 3, 2011. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Daneri Mortuary, 415 Broadway, Jackson, CA. She will be interred in Jackson City Cemetery, Jackson, CA.
