Norine Astrid Baillif
February 3rd, 1937 - September 19th, 2018
Norine was born February 3, 1937 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the eldest of her siblings. During her early years the family moved often before settling down in Buffalo, Minnesota where she later graduated from high school and went on to attend college for a few years before focusing on working fulltime. She met her future husband while working, they married and settled down in Prior Lake, Minnesota for thirty years where they built a lakeside home and raised a family. Norine and her husband later retired to the Portland, Oregon area where they enjoyed the milder climate, and being closer to their daughter and son, and his family. Norine was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a gracious host who enjoyed entertaining family and friends, and derived satisfaction in making all feel welcome. She nurtured friendships throughout her life, from keeping in touch with childhood schoolmates, colleagues, neighbors and relatives, to sharing with new friends as life’s journey offered. Norine would carry on with a positive attitude no matter the circumstances and always had a humorous quip to offer. Norine is survived by her husband Allen, son Lee, his wife Karen and their son Conrad, and siblings Richard Lund and Audrey Lidke. Norine is preceded in death by her parents William and Nora Lund, and daughter Julie. Celebration of Norine’s life will be held on Saturday, October 13th, at West Linn Lutheran Church, 20390 Willamette Drive, West Linn, Oregon beginning at 10:30 a.m. Remembrances to Portland Rescue Mission.
