Norma Elaine Forsman

NORMA ELAINE FORSMAN January 6, 1929 - February 27, 2019 Norma was born in Bismarck, North Dakota and passed away peacefully on February 27, 2019 in Edmonds, WA at the age of 90. At the adventuresome age of 14 Norma moved to Seattle. She met her future husband, Ron, when he was a letter carrier and she was an elevator operator. They were married on June 10, 1949 and moved to Edmonds in 1956 where they raised their three daughters. Norma also assisted Ron in his second job, managing a trailer business and operating a small motel. Norma was an accomplished seamstress and was active in the Lutheran church, Girl Scouts, the Letter Carriers’ Association and the Elks. She loved the many trips she took with her family to Sun Lakes, Birch Bay and California as well as yearly getaways to Reno or Las Vegas. Ron and Norma also enjoyed hosting family and friends for Friday night poker and many other card games. In 2009, Norma and Ron moved into Chateau Pacific in Lynnwood, WA where they were both beloved by residents and staff. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, in 2012 and by a grandson (Gregory Collins) and a great granddaughter (Avery Macaluso). She is survived by a sister, Iris Harmon; three daughters: Janet Schaefer (Richard) of New London, NC; Carol Smyth (Michael) of Edmonds, WA; and Joan Collins of Stanwood, WA; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Services will take place on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:30 am at Beck’s Tribute Center, Edmonds, WA. A private burial will be held in the afternoon at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, WA. Officiating the memorial service will be Rev. Rita Anderson of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Kirkland, WA.
