Norman “Wayne” Fields died April 6, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital following an extended illness. A Gathering of Friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM Friday, April 8, 2016 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel in Kernersville. Wayne was preceded in death by his son Jerry Fields and his brother Jerry Fields. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years Linda Fields; sons Damon Fields and wife Danisha, Michael Fields, and Franklin Wagner and wife Cretia; sisters Beverly Fields, Connie Baginski, and Cleo Everd; brother-in-law John Everd; grandchildren Brandon Fields, Brittanee Chapman, Brian Fields, Ashlynn Wagner, and Caleb Wagner. Wayne was a longtime employee of Moses Cone Hospital and also worked at Vestal Pontiac in Kernersville. He never met a stranger and leaves behind many close friends and co-workers. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in his honor to The Cancer Center, c/o the Office of Institutional Advancement, 1200 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401.
