Odessa Bond

Odessa was called to heaven June 2, 2022. During her brief illness, she was surrounded and cared for by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her adored husband, of 68 years, Leo Bond Jr. ,son Rodger Wayne Bond, granddaughter Ashley L. Taylor, and great-grand baby Izza’Bella Bond. Odessa is survived in legacy by Leo Bond III, Kenneth Randell Bond, Marvin Christopher Bond and spouse Sherri Ann Smith Bond, Marsha Bond-Taylor and spouse Bernard Taylor and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Odessa was a wonderful mother, gifted master special educator, executive officer for St. Paul Federation of Teachers, a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Director of the St. Paul summer school program, member of Summit University Education Consortium and many more organizations in St. Paul, Mn. “Education is the vehicle for upward mobility.” One can see how these words guided Odessa’s life through her generosity, and encouragement of family and friends who aspired to further their education or needed a strong sounding board. Odessa passed away June 2, 2022. She was wrapped in the warmth of her loving family and ready to unite with, soulmate, Leo Bond Jr. We will forever miss Odessa Babb Bond’s amazingly quick- witty, eloquent responses, compassionate demeanor, and unwavering loyalty. A memorial service to remember Odessa will be held on 6-13-2022 at 11 AM at St. Peter Claver Church. The viewing will start at 10:00 A.M. Please join us.
