Olaf James Poter
January 30th, 1953 - February 28th, 2014
Poter, Olaf James Charles Sr., 61, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, February 28, 2014. Ole as he was affectionately known was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He had been a Bail bondsman by trade and had recently relocated to Albuquerque in 2005. Olaf is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jo Ann Macaluso Poter; one son, Olaf Poter Jr;, and two grandchildren, Audrie-anna Poter and Koby Poter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Poter. Olaf will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the Riverside Funeral Home Chapel with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Dave Goodnight, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Olaf's friends, the staff of Presbyterian Health Plex and Presbyterian Home Healthcare Hospice.
