Mrs. Olga Goussis, 88, formerly of Christman Place, Amsterdam died peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Born in Militsa Kastoria, Greece on August 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Clare Zias. Olga immigrated to the United States in 1947. On December 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Augustus "Gus" K. Goussis. Together for 45 years, they owned and operated Furs by Gus on Market Street in Amsterdam. She was an active parishioner of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectady for many years. Olga was also a member of the Lions Club, The Eastern Star and St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her son, William Goussis and his wife Constance of Albany, NY; two granddaughters, Katherine Uluski and her husband Derek and Krystina Didio and her husband Andrew; four great grandchildren, Westley, Theodore, Cecilia and Will. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2 o'clock in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY with Fr. Sean Govostes officiating. Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5 until 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, 427 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
