Olive Monique Fabisiak
October 14th, 1930 - April 29th, 2023
Olive Monique (Therrien) Fabisiak of Ft. Myers passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 92. Born October 14, 1930 to Frank and Aline Therrien in Berlin, NH. Olive was the 3rd of 4 children: Frank Jr. (Doris) Therrien, Doreen (Stan) Peer, and Donald (Betty, Susan) Therrien. She graduated Gorham High School in 1948 and was the girl who liked everybody and always wore a smile. Her entire High School class was invited to her wedding, all 21 of them much to her mother’s dismay! Olive married Ralph Valentine Fabisiak on September 13, 1952. They celebrated 68 years together. Their union was blessed with 3 boys: Donald Fabisiak (deceased) , Terry (Anna Hayek) Fabisiak , Jeffrey (Kathryn Keyes) Fabisiak and a very special niece who came to live with them, Louise (Sonny) Booth of Lehigh Acres. Olive had 3 grandchildren whom she adored: Nicholas (fiancée Kimberly Rife) Fabisiak, Caroline (Timothy) Bross and Riccardo Fabisiak of Milan, Italy. Also, 3 great grandchildren: Quinnleigh Fabisiak, Rowan Fabisiak and McKenna Bross. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2020 and son Donald in 1998. Olive and Ralph made the brave journey of moving their family to Florida in 1959 to escape the cold winters of the White Mountains in N.H. This led to the writing of her memoir titled “Damn Yankees turned Florida Crackers” She began college as a young mother and graduated from FSU with a degree in education and social work. This began her 25-year career as a social worker with the Lee County school system. She, along with her husband Ralph touched many lives with their work in the public school system which included the developmentally disabled at Sunland Training Center in Ft. Myers. Olive and Ralph were longtime members of St. Vincent de Paul church on Palm Beach Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the church or to a donation of their choice. Olive was a very compassionate individual with a strong spirit that never quit. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
