Oliver Duncan Morris Mr. Morris, 90 of Charlotte, NC died in Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Raleigh Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Mr. Morris was born in Newton, NC son of the late John Birch Morris Sr. and Hattie Moody Morris. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill. O.D. has he was called by family and friends was employed with General Electric until he retired. Mr. Morris was a member of Peace Moravian Church for many years. In addition to his parents Mr. Morris was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving Mr Morris is his sister, Peggy Morris Gooch of Raleigh, NC; eight nephews, Steven Allen Morris, John Birch Morris, Charles Hugh Moretz, John Morris Moretz, James Moody Morris, McCoy Lee Moretz and William Lentz Morris and two nieces, Brenda Litton and Mary Beth Hauss. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Morris will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Peace Moravian Church, 4418 Rae Rd, Charlotte, NC with the Reverend Dr. James L. Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Memorials maybe made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Rd Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210or Peace Moravian Church 4418 Rea Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.
