Opal Groce Beeson
June 8th, 1919 - February 11th, 2017
Opal Groce Beeson, 97, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, February 11, 2017. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 1:00PM Monday February 13, 2017 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Rev. Roy Cantrell officiating. The family will visit with friends beginning at Noon prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Her strength and longevity, in her later years, were amazing to witness. During her decline, she was comforted by God’s grace and experienced no pain. Opal was born in Yadkin County and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert George Angell and Leona Elizabeth Spainhour Angell. Also preceding her in death were her first husband Elwood Groce, and later her husband Colon Beeson, brother Guyion Angell, and sister Reba Tuttle. Opal is survived by her only son George William Groce and Sylvia of Kernersville; grandchildren Ginger Groce and Robin of Oak Ridge and Jeff Groce and Bonnie of Kernersville; great-grandchildren William Groce and Kimberly of Kernersville and Anna Groce of Kernersville; great-great grand-daughters Chloe and Lilly Groce; brothers Nelson Angell and Earlene and Oliver Angell and Carol. Opal was retired from Adam-Millis. She spent her free time sewing, gardening and travelling in her later years. Sylvia and Ginger were the recipients of many of her custom made dresses for special holidays. Kimberly Groce has been Opal’s great-granddaughter, companion and caregiver for many years. We will never be able to thank her enough for her love and fierce dedication. The family would like to especially thank her doctor, Dr. Aaron Boals and his nurse Stacie Hackler. In addition, thanks also to the many associates with Hospice & Palliative Care Center, “Hospice Community Service”. Friends and family may sign, and view the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to a local Hospice of the donor’s choice.
