Orfeo "Mim" Trombetta
August 11th, 1922 - April 28th, 2017
ORFEO (Mim) TROMBETTA, August 11, 1922 - April 28, 2017 of Seminole, Florida and formerly from Brooklyn, New York, died peacefully on April 28th, 2017 at 8:40 am. He retired in 1973 from the United States Air Force after 31 years of continuous service, beginning with World War II, spanning Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. He is survived by his junior high school sweetheart and beloved wife of almost 73 years, Joanne (nee Gatto) Trombetta, his three sons: LTC Orfeo (Chuck) Trombetta Jr., USA Retired, William S. Trombetta, Air Force Civilian, Retired, and Christopher J. Trombetta, CPA; three grandchildren Orfeo (Chucky) III, Stephanie and Jessica, and one great granddaughter, Olivia. He was predeceased by his daughter Diane Trombetta-Potts in 1987. A committal service with military honors will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 10:45AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in Orfeo Trombetta's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. St Jude is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit corporation.
