Owen S. Rachleff 75 of St. Petersburg passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born July 16, 1934 in Brooklyn NY, Owen moved to St. Petersburg in 1999. He was an assistant Professor of Humanities at New York University. In addition, he authored and published numerous books on religion, parapsychology, the occult and several science fiction novels. Owen was also a playwright and retired actor in numerous off-Broadway plays and made many TV appearences and highly successful commercials. He is perhaps best known for his one man show, "Escoffier, King of Chefs" which he has performed all over the world. He is survived by his companion Gary Hart, sister Enid Nelson, aunt Roslyn Weiman and nieces Meryl, Beth and their families. Graveside services will be 11:30AM Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Knollwood Park Cemetery, Queens NY. David C. Gross Funeral Home is serving the family. Service Information
