1930 - 2024
Palmer W. Poteet, age 94 of Church Hill, entered the glories of heaven and was reunited with his wife, Bonnie, and his son, Kenneth, on Friday, May 24, 2024. Palmer was born on May 4, 1930, in Lee County, VA to Harvey and Lillie Mae Poteet. Palmer married Bonnie and after 72 years of a beautiful life together, she preceded him in death on December 30, 2020. Palmer loved the outdoors, gardening, and NASCAR.
Palmer was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Bonnie Poteet; son, Kenneth Poteet; and sister, Ruby Jean Ely. Those left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Wendy Tomlinson, and Brian Poteet; great-grandchildren, Sydney Thompson, Lindsey Tomlinson, and Finley Poteet; great-great-granddaughter, Blaire Thompson; great-great-grandson, Harris Thompson; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery with Brother David Dotson officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
