Pamela Hayes Clark
August 1st, 1947 - July 3rd, 2015
Pamela Hayes Clark, daughter of the late Lawrence Richie and Mildred Richie was born on August 1, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was transitioned to her heavenly home on July 3, 2015. Pamela was a graduate of the Class of 1966 from Forest Park High School in Baltimore, MD. Pamela was the eldest grandchild of seventeen grandchildren of the late Morris and Marie Hayes of Dinwiddie, Virginia. Pamela was simply, a "beautiful person" that always went out of her way to help others and "do the right thing" whenever she could. As a young woman, Pamela was well liked and loved by her family and friends. Pamela and her loving sister, Pat Richie of Wellington, FL had a wonderful childhood growing up as they enjoyed spending a lot of time with family in Baltimore, MD and summer months Dinwiddie, VA. Pamela was blessed to have a large family which she adored. Pam, as the family affectionately called her, was a "talker" and all her family truly enjoyed that about her. Pam accepted Christ into her life at a young age and consistently gave Christ credit for the multitude of successes and accomplishments in her life. Pam was a part of a close knit family that lived many years right next door to their mother's brother, the late uncle Leon and aunt Odessa Hayes and their six children on Dolfield Avenue in Baltimore, MD. It was on Dolfield Avenue where Pam met and married Michael Smith Clark. From this union, two sons, Michael and David were born. Pam worked in various local jobs in Baltimore, MD but eventually moved to Washington, DC to pursue studies at the Cortez Peters Business School while staying with her late aunt Eloise and late uncle John Palmer. Like so many young women, Pam joined the workforce at an early age with the Federal Department of Transportation in Washington, DC. Pam eventually settled into a career in social services working for the District of Columbia government doing what she so enjoyed best, helping people. Pam"s blessings and challenges in life were many, including being a single mom that unselfishly reared, provided and gave her best as she prepared Michael and David for the world. Pam prided herself in "doing right by people" even when those did not reciprocate the same to her. Pam was a loving, kind, compassionate, and unselfish woman who truly enjoyed doing for others. Pam would come running if any of her family or friends needed her assistance at any time. Pam was always there to lend a hand or listening ear. Pam truly adored spending time with, and assisting her elderly family members. She adored them! Pam was a prideful woman. She would, with excitement often state how extremely proud and blessed she felt to have managed to "drive both of her boys" off to college. Pam resided in the Washington, DC/Metropolitan area for many years before she retired and joined her son, David, his wife Natalie, and her grandchildren, Nina-Simone and Layla Jolie Clark as they transitioned to Charlotte, NC. Pam felt truly blessed to gain "her daughter", Natalie. Pam adored Natalie and truly took comfort in knowing that she was there to care for her along side of David and Michael as she graceful lived out the Lords plan for her life. Pam continued to promote love and kindness as she met new friends in Charlotte, NC and in the Union County, NC area. Everyone she encountered in her life truly knows the wonderful and dynamic woman that Pam was, and the tremendously sweet spirit she possessed. She will forever live in the hearts of her sons, sister, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, family and friends.
